Begüm Demirtaş, Stock Keeper, Turkey, working in Sweden

Begüm Demirtaş, from Turkey, is a wind turbine technician and a member of the wind turbine support team at Vestas, Skane, Sweden. She is now working as Stock keeper. Begüm studied public relations, international relations and then wind power management.

Salma Elgamily is from Egypt and has a background in Biomedical and Medical Engineering. Salma is a Field Service Engineer for Abbott working on haematology equipment.

Jessie Moffitt studied Mathematics and then Wind Turbine Technology. As a wind turbine technician, she maintains and services wind turbines and is Global Wind Organisation GWO Advanced Rescue qualified. Jessie works for Fairwind in the United States. She works at height and has chosen a quote about ‘lifting’.

Paul Neher, Supervisor of Biomedical Engineering, USA

Paul Neher has over 25 years of being a Biomedical Engineer. He is the Supervisor of Biomedical Services at Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Paul is about to complete a master’s degree in health services administration. Paul has chosen two quotes which he uses himself and hopes will inspire others.
My Grandfather always told me:

“Every day you learn something, is a day you won’t die.”

I use this as a reminder to continue to improve because learning is growing. The opposite is atrophy and death. So learn, push others to learn, and help them to grow, for that is one of the greatest gifts.

Winston Churchill, in a speech at Harrow school during WW2:

Frank Pemberton has over twenty years in medical equipment field service and management after fifteen years in the semiconductor industry. He is now a Field Service Engineer for BD Biosciences, part of Beckton Dickinson supporting cell analysers and cell sorters. He is based in San Antonio, Texas. Frank shares his motivation as follows.
