If you support the goals of The Field Engineer Community, see our Volunteering Opportunities where you could volunteer your support in the running of the community in many ways. Here are some of the ways you can help.

Specific Volunteering Opportunities

Website Development

Since our three websites are currently built on the WordPress platform it would significantly help us if you have experience with WordPress and the LAMPP environment that you can volunteer. Similarly experience of Linux/ MySQL / MariaDB /PHP /Nginx /Apache /Javascript / LiteSpeed could all be useful.

For our The Field Engineer Job Board and The Field Engineer Store websites knowledge of WooCommerce will in the same way be very useful. So as to make a success of our Store and Job Board your support will enable us to put more investment in to our community website.

We want to offer our members the resources of a dedicated Store with discounts for members, and moreover a Job Board with many job opportunities for our members.

Help us to speed up the development of our community and websites by volunteering your time.

The launch of our own Mobile App is planned, but we need your help .

Media Creation

Do you make videos of your work in the field you could share with us? Tell us about your social channels and we can re-share your content to a wider audience, on our YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels. Can you create content for our social Channels?

Would you like to be interviewed on our YouTube Channel? Message us about what you would like to discuss in an interview. We will follow up and discuss this with you.

Local Events and local Evangelism

The Field Engineer community has members across the world. We have created networking group in the community for every country. You could volunteer to support the growth of your country’s The Field Engineer Community membership. You could even start running Virtual Events and meetups of The Field Engineer where you are and create volunteering opportunities in your region.

Share your stories and articles in our blogs

Do you have story to share with our community and the wider world? We are always looking for interesting topics for our blogs. This can be a blog about your career, a particular project, technologies, or field engineering, service, support, tools, management and leadership skills and tips.

If you have ideas for topics we have never covered, that you think would interest our readers let us know. Feel free to send us an outline of your idea.

Onboarding New Members of the Community

Helping onboard new members will without doubt be a big help? Helping new members to get the most from their membership what’s more helps everyone in the community. To that end you will also be helping our Community Manager.

Contribute to or even manage our Networking Groups

To repeat The Field Engineer community has over 100 networking groups. Many of these are country groups, to say nothing of our technology, industry, and job role related groups.

You could bring your expertise to these groups which until now have not had a dedicated expert coordinator. Together with sharing posts, creating discussions, adding your thoughts to posts and discussions, you could even moderate a Group.

Sponsorships and advertising

The Field Engineer Sponsors welcome image with logo

Can you or your company offer funding for specific projects? To illustrate within the community, sponsoring events, sponsoring our networking Groups, or even (co)sponsoring our The Field Engineer Mobile App development, would earn your company credit for its contribution to our cause.

Any other contributions you can think of…

If you can think of some other Volunteering Opportunities or ways of supporting us, even occasionally The Field Engineer want to hear from you.

To discuss or to clarify any of these ways of volunteering please message me with the message header Volunteering for The Field Engineer .

Many thanks in advance,

Tim Robertson
